Detectives

Louisiana State Police Detectives are responsible for the investigation of violent crime, property crime, white collar/economic crime, identity theft, related financial crimes, and the apprehension of criminals and fugitives. Detective Squads participate in several task forces, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Violent Crime Task Force and the United States Marshal’s Service Fugitive Task Force.

When requested, Louisiana State Police Detectives provide assistance to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies by providing investigative expertise and resources for the investigation of violent crime, use of force incidents, and administrative inquiries.
