The Operations Section is committed to the strict regulation and control of statutorily authorized gaming entities in conjunction with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB). These establishments include licensed Riverboat Casinos, the Land-Based Casino in New Orleans, Slots at the Race Tracks, and all Video Poker locations. The Section is responsible for the intake, processing and investigation of applicants for licensure or permitting in the Video Gaming and Casino Gaming industries. After conducting the investigations of applicants, the investigative findings are submitted to the LGCB for licensing determination. Investigations, as provided by Title 27, are required to be conducted under the direct supervision of sworn law enforcement officers. The Operations Section shall investigate and enforce all laws, rules and regulations including the provisions of Title 27.
The Section has field offices located in the following cities: Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Shreveport. Inquiries should be made through the office located nearest the activity in question; however, all inquiries are welcome and will be routed to the appropriate office.
