Gaming Licensing Section

The Gaming Licensing Section's primary goal is to diligently fulfill statutory responsibilities in the interest of the state, while also assisting industry in its efforts to remain competitive. To do this the Section must constantly assess the way it conducts business and make adjustments that result in increased effectiveness.

The Licensing Section is responsible for the intake, processing and investigation of applicants for licensure or permitting in the Video Gaming and Casino Gaming industries. The Section serves under the jurisdiction of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board and receives legal advice and representation from the Office of Attorney General. Our primary function is to conduct investigations of applicants and submit investigative findings to the LGCB for licensing determination.

Annually, the Licensing Section processes over 10,000 new and renewal applications. The investigations conducted by the Section range from inquiry into individual suitability to complex corporate investigations involving billion dollar transactions. Our efforts are also focused on the investigation of issues that may affect an individual or company's continued suitability to maintain a license or permit.
