If you are looking to transition from Active Duty to a civilian job in a timely manner, then you should apply 9-12 months before your separation date. Be mindful that if you are serving a three year commitment and your separation date does not reflect three years of Active Duty Service, then you do not meet the minimum requirements for employment based upon a minimum of three years Active Duty Service.
