(not pictured) Exceptional Bravery Award On October 2, 2002 at approximately 11:00 p.m., a man was involved in a one vehicle crash on LA 21 in Washington Parish. The vehicle that the man was operating left the roadway and struck a pine tree. Due to heavy damage the vehicle sustained during impact, the man's semi-conscious body became trapped behind the steering wheel. Shortly after the crash, Mr. Gary Adams, Mr. Ricky Carroll, and Mr. Michael Nebe stopped at the scene and without concern for their safety, quickly removed the man from the burning vehicle seconds before the fire blazed out of control. Unfortunately, prior to his amazing rescue, the man suffered severe burns to his entire body. If not for the selfless courage of these 3 men, the man would have certainly perished in the raging fire. |
