Exceptional Bravery Award While driving on LA 384, Mr. Patrick Breaux and Mr. Brandon Porche came upon a crash between an 18 wheeler and a car. Both men approached the crash scene and observed two people still in the vehicle. The passenger was unable to move due to a severe hip injury. When they saw heavy smoke begin to pour out of the car, they quickly realized that she had to be removed before the vehicle caught on fire. As they struggled to get her out, the vehicle burst into flames. While getting her out of the vehicle, both men still had the presence of mind to keep her spine and neck straight to reduce the chances of further injury. After troopers arrived on the scene, they noticed that the entire passenger compartment was completely destroyed. If not for the quick actions of these two men, this crash could have turned out worse than it did. |
